FAQs

  • Is there a cut off time?

We welcome all levels of runner, jogger and walker at the Brighton Trail Marathon. We ask participants to prepare to a pace of above 3 miles p/h to complete the Brighton Trail Marathon in around 9 hours. However, if you are on the course after the 9 hour point, you will still be able to finish your challenge supported by the team with a medal waiting for you on the finish line.

  • Is the event canicross friendly?

Unfortunately at this stage we cannot confirm if we will be allowing Canicross at the event. However, we are working with stakeholders to try to make this an option for you and will update our participants with any further information.

The Climbs

Each climb at Brighton Trail Marathon has its own unique personality, offering breathtaking views and an unforgettable challenge. Whether you run, jog or walk them doesn’t matter. Meet them face on. Conquer them one by one. Remember them forever.

The Villages

Spectating at Brighton Trail Weekend will clearly be a very different experience for friends & family in comparison with a road marathon or 10k event.

If you are running the marathon, you will start on Madeira Drive where our sister event finishes each April!

Your supporters can come along with you and wave you off from our Start Village, where will offer up food, drink and plenty of atmosphere to get you going.

Supporters will then have ample time to catch a train to Falmer Station in order to see you at the finish. Once at Falmer Station, the finish and Event Village in Stanmer Park is a short walk away. Or, they could get a taxi or bus from the city.

The Event Village at the finish will be located in the magnificent Stanmer Park Estate, where supporters can enjoy excellent food, drink, shopping, activities and live music while you complete your trail event.

This will be a fantastic place to sit and wait for you to finish your event either with a picnic or enjoying what is on offer.

More info on picnics, concessions and entertainment will be made available in coming weeks.

spectating on the course

While much of the marathon course will be inaccessible to spectators as it is hilly and remote, on arrival there will be several places around the course they can see you through.

We will send all participants a full guide for spectators, how they can see you en route and how to get to the finish. (There will also be live photos streamed online, courtesy of AWOL – so be sure to look out for more info so your supporters can watch you from wherever they are and stay up to date with your progress.)

The 10k looped course will be easier to spectate from, all located within Stanmer Woods.
