Organiser's Description

Our 2025 EPIC 10k Trail Series begins in our home town of Bristol, at the stunning Ashton Court Estate.

With some testing climbs, rolling terrain and amazing views of the surrounding areas - the Ashton Court route is exactly what the EPIC 10k trail series is all about - challenging yourself and using your fitness to explore some stunning locations!

TRAIL RUNNING OR RUCK RUNNING?

As with all of our events in our EPIC 10k Trail Series, there are two main ways you can take on the Ashton Court 10k route:

1) A Standard Trail Run - i.e. just you and your trainers versus the trails.

2) A Ruck Run - i.e. take on the same 10k route but with the addition of a weighted backpack that we provide you with on the day (12kg for men, 8kg for women).

COMPETITIVE OR JUST FOR FUN?

For both the trail run & ruck run categories, you can also choose whether to enter the competitive heats and compare your course time against others...

Or you can enter the ‘Just for Fun’ heats & take on the route by yourself or with as many friends as you'd like (please note: you will still all receive a finishing time)!

Please note: If you take part in a competitive category, we will pre-allocate you to your age group based on the age you provide when signing up.

At the end of the event, you will be able to see how you placed overall as well as in your specific age group.

Course Details

The route has a bit of everything - testing climbs, rolling hills, woodland trails and speedy downhills! Plus - there are some stunning views of the surrounding areas of Bristol at the top of the climbs!

What's Included

Full Course Routes will be available on our website in early 2025. Shortly before the event you will receive your heat time. On the day you will check in and then head off shortly after!

FAQs

  • Do I need to be really fit to take part?

    Not at all. Our events are designed to be for everyone. Yes, they are challenging in areas but they have also been designed to not be super-technical and therefore are accessible to everyone! You can also decide how to tackle the course, whether that is in our competitive heats, our just for fun heats and by yourself or with friends!

  • What other amenities will there be on the day?

    A bag drop area, toilets, food and drink vendors and also some extra special fitness apparel & merch!

  • Will there be a photographer on the day?

    Of course - we'll have several throughout the route!

  • Will there be water stations on the course?

    Of course, there will be several along the route!

  • What is rucking?

    Rucking, Yomping or Tabbing is essentially "moving with the addition of weight (usually a backpack)" - this style of exercise has long been at the centre of military training and we know exactly why...it's absolutely awesome for your fitness which is why we want to get as many people as possible trying it! Whether you walk, jog or run the distance - it's up to you.

  • Trail Running or Ruck Running? I'm not sure which to choose!

    Trail Running & Ruck Running have long been at the heart of our events which is why you can do both at our EPIC 10k Trail Series! That's right, if you fancy pushing the pace, you can enter the trail run category where it's just you against the trails! Or, if you fancy a slightly different challenge, you can sign up for the ruck category, in which you'll have the addition of a weighted backpack (which we provide) for the entire distance (12kg for men, 8kg for women). It's up to you!

  • Competitive or just for fun? Which should I choose?

    As with all of our events, our aim is to encourage as many people as possible to test their fitness outside the walls of the gym, regardless of their levels of fitness! Which is why for both the trail run & ruck run categories, you can either enter the competitive heats and compare your course time against others, or you can enter the ‘Just for Fun’ heats & take on the route by yourself or with as many friends as you'd like - it's up to you! Categories are: - individuals & groups (just for fun) - mens individual (competitive) - womens individual (competitive) Please note: If you take part in a competitive category, we will pre-allocate you to your age group based on the age you provide when signing up.   • When will we find out our heat times?

    We will send out an athlete pack which will include exact heat times on the week of the event. This pack will also include important information including parking etc. Provisionally all heats will start between 11-11.30am

We never charge for spectators, so everyone is welcome to come and support.
