Firstly the venue was changed with around a week to go. It went from running around Carlisle to running laps of the race course. I actually really enjoyed running the laps. Meant you could top up with water every 2.5 km.
The staff were friendly and it was nice to have people cheering every lap. Defo made a difference.
Couple of suggestions for the future for me would be this. 1. Made the medals specific to the distance and the t shirts too. I didn’t buy the t shirt because it was generic Carlisle 5k 10k half marathon. Doesn’t show what you actually did. Which for the half marathon runners want that. And 2. I’d have a food truck for the spectators. 3. Have a right good cool down area with rollers and bands.
All in all a really enjoyable event, would do it again.
