*PLEASE NOTE: Due to road closures in place for this event there is a strict 3 hour cut off time!
The event, which supports the charity Action for the Wild, will run through the Zoo for 1k before heading out onto the closed roads before finishing back inside the Zoo.
The Zoo is proudly listed in the top 2 zoos in the UK and listed as 11th best zoo around the world as part of the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Attractions.

Was great race, was nice to start and finish in the zoo all the animals were out so got see them and get picture if wanted. Marshals were really good fully enthusiasm and encouragement but I think it could have done with a second water station on the run itself. Looking forward to next years

Lovely route albeit a bit hilly. It was pouring down with rain at this years Colchester stampede half marathon but the organisers and volunteers were still out in full force with smiles on their faces. Lovely route on flat closed off roads and nice to start in the zoo by the elephants! There are small hills throughout with gentle inclines, nothing too challenging however the last mile is a bit of a killer with a much larger hill just before entering back into the zoo where there are a few sharp corners and steep small hills approaching the finish line. The last mile is usually where I like to sprint it out so this was pretty difficult but all in all a great race!
