Get ready to lace up your running shoes for the exhilarating Conquer Cannock event, taking place from Sunday, July 20th to Sunday, August 3rd, 2025, in the breathtaking Cannock Chase, Rugeley, Staffordshire. Organised by the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation in partnership with Forestry England, this exciting series invites runners of all ages and abilities to experience the stunning natural beauty of the West Midlands while challenging themselves on a variety of terrains.
Participants can choose from a range of competitive distances, including a 10-miler, 10k, 5k, and a fun mini miler for the little ones. The race schedule kicks off at 9:30 am for the 10-miler, followed by the 10k at 9:45 am, the 5k at 10:00 am, and the mini miler at 10:05 am. Each race will feature a mass warm-up and will be chip-timed (except for the mini miler), ensuring a thrilling atmosphere as runners navigate the picturesque trails filled with hills, loose surfaces, and the lush surroundings of the forest. Organiser's Description
Cannock Chase is the jewel of the West Midlands, offering runners a variety of terrains that switch between flat and narrow steep trails.
Take on the series of chip-timed competitive events, challenging yourself against the clock.
There will be a mass group warm up before you take to the starting line. Each distance will set off separately and runners will be called to the start line by an official MC.
The courses are signposted and well marshalled and cover stunning views of the forest. As this is a trail run, runners can potentially expect mixed terrain, hills, loose surfaces and exposed tree roots – all adding to the thrill of the chase.
You can collect your race pack including race number and timing chip at the registration tent set within the charity village. Registration opens at 8.30am. Please note the mini miler will not be chip timed.
You must be 16 or older for the 10-miler. Those 15 and over can take on the 10k and 14 or over to sign up for the 5k. The mini-miler is open to ages 3 or over, or running buggies.
