Event summary

The Great Gorilla Run, organised by findarace.com, will take place on Sunday 23rd September 2018 in London, Greater London. Participants will have the opportunity to run, jog, or walk 8k through the City of London alongside famous faces like Bill Oddie and Stanley Johnson, all dressed as gorillas. This 16th annual event aims to raise awareness and funds to save the mountain gorillas from extinction, with less than 1000 of these majestic creatures left in the wild. Partnering for the first time with King's College London's Student Union, the route for GGR18 is set to be confirmed but will maintain the traditional 8k loop format with a new start/finish point. Join the fun and help make a difference for a critically endangered species!

Great Gorilla Run

Sun 23rd September 2018

Four people in gorilla costumes, wearing yellow T-shirts with "The Great Gorilla Run" printed on them, are standing in a large glass observation deck, overlooking a city. They appear to be enjoying the view of the urban landscape from a high vantage point.

Organiser's Description

Join Bill Oddie, Stanley Johnson and hundreds of people dressed as gorillas to run, jog or walk 8k though the City of London, on the 16th annual Great Gorilla Run, to help save a species on the edge of extinction. There are fewer than 1000 mountain gorillas left in the World. We'd like to see their numbers increase but we can only achieve it with your help.

Following 15 years of success starting the run at Mincing Court, we are changing it up this year. The Gorilla Organization is to partner for the first time with King's College London's Student Union for GGR18. The route is still to be confirmed, however the run will stay in its previous format of an 8k loop around the city, but with a different start/finish point.
