Each June, runners take to the pristine sands of the famous Whitehaven Beach for the Great Whitehaven Beach Run. If you’re looking for a fitness challenge, this is a unique and memorable experience, suitable for the whole family. Whitehaven Beach is a 7k stretch along Whitsunday Island, Queensland, Australia. The Island is accessible by boat from the mainland ports of Airlie Beach and Shute Harbour, as well as Hamilton Island. Half marathon, 10.5k, 5.5k; also kids' 1.5k or 500m - make this fun event one for the whole family.
