Who can take part in Heritage Trail 10km?

Runners and walkers over the age of 16, on day of race.

Can I run with my dog?

Yes! Dogs are allowed at some of the Heritage Trail Series venues. More details to follow but it is our expectation that you will be able to run with your dog at the launch venue.

What is the distance of the event?

Each Heritage Trail Series event will be as close to 10km as we can make it. Because the route is off-road we cannot be as accurate as a road race course measurement. We are considering offering a 5km option in the future.

Are spectators allowed at the event?

Yes absolutely. The venues chosen for Heritage Trail Series are family and friends friendly with plenty of activities to do pre, during and post events. Spectator passes will need to be purchased. Children under the age of 11 will be free.

Can I defer my entry?

Yes, you can to either another event in the series or the following year. There is an admin fee to do this of £10.

Can I transfer my entry?

Yes, you can. There is an admin fee to do this of £10.

Organiser's Description

Heritage Trail Series is made up of four 10km trail running events taking place in spring, summer, autumn and winter. They will be set in a beautiful Leonardslee Gardens, near Horsham in Sussex, that doesn’t normally allow running to take place, offering an exclusive and unique running experience.

Our event will take place at the stunning Leonardslee Gardens - a unique Grade I listed woodland and gardens offering beautiful lakes, sculptures, wildlife (incl.wallabies!), vineyards and a romantic Grade II listed house complete with restaurant.

The weather was horrendous (this was the day they called off the Great South run), but the run was so much fun! It was difficult of course, but with the scenery and the runners enthusiasm and the poor volunteer's out there in the cold and rain still cheering us on made the race great! I would definitely do this again and hopefully the weather will be kinder. The organisers did offer a free deferral for people who didn't want to run in the rain which I though was a very kind gesture.
