Jewel of the Jurassic Coast

As host venue of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic sailing events, the Weymouth area is an international sport event haven. Situated off the World Heritage Site Jurassic Coast, this race is a first-timer favourite, featuring sandy beaches, spectacular coastline and the stunning Dorset countryside.

Course Details

Swim
The one-loop 1.2 mile (1.9 km) swim course is composed of one clockwise lap in a triangle layout. Swim straight out away from Weymouth's beach and two right turns later you will be headed back to transition.

Avg. Water Temp 63° F / 17° C

Bike
The one-loop 56 mile (90 km) bike course consists of one anti-clockwise loop through the rolling Dorset Countryside up North to King's Stag and back to Weymouth via the towns of Godmanstone and Dorchester.


Run
The two and a half loop 13.1 mile (21.1 km) run course begins with a run from Lodmoor Country Park to the finish area, along Weymouth's esplanade. This provides a spectator friendly run course with support from family and friends.

How to Get There

By road
Follow the signs to Weymouth via the A354 then follow the brown tourist signs for Old Harbour North and Pavilion. The Pavilion can be found at the far end of the Esplanade.

Park and Ride
The Weymouth Mount Pleasant Park and Ride is found just off the main road A354 into Weymouth and has connecting bus services direct into the town centre.

By train
Weymouth Train Station is located in the centre of town and is approximately a 15 minute walk from the Pavilion along the Esplanade.

By bus
The nearest bus stops for the Pavilion is at the Kings Statue on the Seafront, approximately 10 minutes’ walk away. Busses in Weymouth are operated by First Group.

By air
The nearest major airport is Bournemouth Airport. This airport has international flights from Bournemouth and is 39 miles from the center of Weymouth.
Another major airport is Exeter International Airport which has international and domestic flights from Exeter and is 59 miles from Weymouth.

Online registrations are synced to our database within 24 hours. You will automatically receive a registration confirmation e-mail

Your age group category for the event you registered for will be reflective of your age as of 31 December of the event year.

Your name, and the names of other starters will be searchable on the IRONMAN Tracker App the day prior to your race.

1. Check the information on the start list above. Make sure your name is spelled correctly, the country represented is correct and that your TriClub is affiliated with your IRONMAN profile. Your BIB number will be announced about three weeks prior to race day. If not, please contact directly the organisation at [email protected]

2. The race pack can only be collected by the registered athlete and during the official opening hours of the registration. You can will these in our event schedule. Once the registration is closed (Saturday until 2pm) you will no longer get your race pack.

3. During race week you will receive a confirmation email which will include your BIB number and your personal QR code. This email must be printed out or shown electronically on your smartphone/tablet at the registration

4. Please bring your annual triathlon license with you, have this ready to show to the volunteer upon collecting your race pack.

5. If you do not have an annual triathlon, one-day licences will be available to purchase on-site at registration.

6. Bring your ID or passport with you; we need to verify that you will be the athlete who is racing.

7. IMPORTANT: Only the athlete in person is allowed to pick up the race pack. The race pack will not be given to a third person, not even with authorisation.
