Known as one of the most beautiful races in the world, IRONMAN Austria-Kärnten has become legendary among athletes. Breathtaking swim course scenery of the Wörthersee, biking through the green heart of Carinthia, and a cauldron-like finish line in the heart of the city. This is triathlon at its purest.
The swim in the turquoise waters of Lake Wörthersee is considered one of the most beautiful in all of IRONMAN. The newly created one-loop bike course leads from the transition area near the University of Klagenfurt through the villages and towns surrounding Klagenfurt. The second part of the course then leads along the World-famous Wörthersee. The two-loop run is flat and fast. Athletes run out to the town of Krumpendorf and then turn around towards the center of Klagenfurt towards the magical finish line!
