Organiser's Description

FAST FLAT 10KM OVER HISTORIC RAF KENLEY AIRFIELD. IT PLAYED A SIGNIFICANT ROLE DURING THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN IN ITS DEFENCE OF LONDON.

The race is chip timed, run on tarmac and is completely traffic free.
The event is a charitable race for the Portcullis club and all proceeds will be going to them. Established in 1970, the Portcullis Club is the meeting place for the Kenley & Caterham branch of the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA). The Clubhouse stands in a corner of the famous Kenley Airfield (Victor Beamish Avenue, Caterham, CR3 5FX) where the 615 Squadron was based during World War 2.

There will also be a 1 Mile Fun Run for ages 5 to 15 years.

The race is supported by Westerham Financial Services.

Course Details

Fast, flat and traffic free! If the weather is good it really is a PB course. Take in the historic Kenley air field and watch the gluiders fly as you run.

What's Included

This our 3rd 10km event and kids race and this year is set to be bigger and better. A race that finishes at a pub? what more could you ask for. We also have a beautiful Medal Scimitar Finishers T Shirts (10K only) and goodies for the children.

How to Get There

Located 10 minutes off Junction 6 of the M25 and 30 minutes via train from central London it is prime location for a great day. Parking at Kenley airfield is free. You can park all around Hayes Lane which runs around the airfield. There will be no traffic restrictions on the day. If you travel from further afield by train, the closest stations are Kenley, Upper warlingham, Whyteleafe and Whyteleafe South stations, both within about a twenty minute walk from the start

Parking is free and plentiful on local roads.

Age limits - At least 15yrs on race day for the 10k and 5yrs for the mile.
