Organiser's Description

The Linda Norgrove Foundation 10K is an annual 10K, established in 2011, on the Bhaltos Peninsula, around the stunning sandy beaches of Uig, Isle of Lewis in the Scottish Outer Hebrides.

It's a timed event, and you can walk or run, all are welcome. The entrance fee goes in its entirity to help this small charity with its tangible, life changing work to supporting women and children in Afghanistan.

Everyone is encouraged to take part, wherever they are in the world.

How to Get There

The Linda Norgrove 10K takes place in October on the Isle of Lewis, Outer Hebrides of Scotland. To get there, you will need to book a ferry from Uig on Skye or Ullapool, with Calmac, or fly from Glasgow, Inverness or Edinburgh to Stornoway with Loganair.

Once you are on the island - travelling from Stornoway on Lewis, take the A859 south to Leurbost, or if arriving via Tarbert in Harris, take the A859 north to Leurbost. Then take the A858 to Garynahine, then the B8011 to Uig. Follow the B8011 for about 17 miles until you reach a right hand turn signposted "Circular Scenic Route Miabhaig, Cliobh, Bhaltos, Cnip, Riof, UIgean

Parking

Plenty of parking, you will be directed to where to park by our Marshalls.

Location

The Linda Norgrove 10K takes place on the Bhaltos (Valtos) Peninsula, in Uig, Isle of Lewis. It is an incredibly scenic route, tracking the coast of this peninsula with world class golden sandy beaches in view.
