Organiser's Description
It is an understatement to suggest that 2020 has been a rollercoaster year thus far. Event after event has been cancelled from the running calendar and it is difficult to predict when we can get back to the sense of normality we were used to.
Despite all the challenges that are being faced around the world today, we need to ensure that we are doing our best to keep fit.
Luton Lions Running Club are pleased to present the Luton Lions Weekend of Running.
This virtual event will take place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October 2020.
Saturday 3rd October 2020 - 10k and Half Marathon
Sunday 4th October 2020 - Full Marathon
The full marathon has been included for those that have been left disappointed by the cancellation of the Berlin Marathon but would like to train for an event.
There are also many runners that are unsure whether the London Marathon will take place in its rescheduled date of Sunday 4th October.
As the training has already started for London, even if the event gets cancelled, by signing up for the Luton Lions Full Marathon, you can earn yourself a medal.
If the London Marathon does go ahead on this date, you will end up with two medals!
And then there are those that are looking to challenge themselves by completing a full marathon.
When you sign up for one of the virtual runs, it must be completed on the specified date.
Finishers will receive a quality medal upon completion of the event.
You can encourage family and friends to join you in a virtual run by creating a team. For example, if you and three friends sign up for the 10k virtual run, once you have each completed your 10k, you can view the team leaderboard which helps allow for bragging rights!
The Luton Lions Running Weekend is an event not to be missed. When so many events have been cancelled, this is one where you can sign up and earn yourself a cool medal!
