Magna Carta Spring

Sat 26th April 2025

A group of runners, wearing numbered race bibs, begins a race under an arch that says "Start/Finish" and "Pain is Weakness Leaving the Body." They are running on a path surrounded by greenery, with event flags lined up on the sides. A woman wearing a sports bra and shorts, numbered 157, runs along a dirt path beside a body of water. Other runners are visible in the background, and trees line the pathway. It's a sunny day with clear blue skies. A person in athletic wear, with a race bib number 68, runs past a large bronze statue of a regal figure. The runner is making a playful, exaggerated running pose with trees and grassy areas in the background. A smiling woman and man pose together outdoors. The man, wearing a medal and race bib, holds a clear cup. The woman holds up a sign with artwork and the word "Taiwan" written on it. They are standing in a green park with trees in the background. A serene river flows alongside a grassy path that winds through a lush, green landscape. Trees densely cover the hills in the distance, atop which a large house is nestled, overlooking the tranquil waters below.

The race was very well organised. A smaller event that was more personalised than many of the larger, corporate events. Scenery was very beautiful, drinks points at suitable intervals. The only reason it did not get a five star is that the course had parts to it where the paths were very narrow and you had to stop to allow other runners through which was not ideal - I accept that you cannot have lots of space all the time but it was a bit challenging on the day but overall I would say an event that other runners should attend 😊

A lovely marathon along the Windsor Thames path. It's flat, but can be quite hard going, particularly towards the end of the race! Worth a go.
