Organiser's Description

The gateway to Gower famous for it’s pier is home to the Mumbles Triathlon. One to finish off the season offering athletes two course distances, each with a swim in the calm, safe, idyllic setting of Mumbles Bay, the famous Gower roads (with some tough climbs thrown in) for the bike legs, and a fast, flat, picturesque run along the stunning shoreline of Mumbles Bay.

If you are looking for a race with an enclosed stunning sea swim, incredible support from the community, topped off with one of the most breath-taking scenic runs, then this is the perfect triathlon for you.


1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run
750m swim, 32 km bike, 5 km run
750m swim, 21 km bike, 2.5 km run

Middle distance:

Middle - The triathlon will start with a 2 lap 950m course off the Mumbles Bay.

This is the 56mile course for the bike. There is also a feed station stop on route.

The run will be a 4 lap route across the bay. Very flat course with beautiful scenic views.

Sprint distance:

Sprint Distance - This will be a 1 lap course which will start after all the middle distances have started there 2nd lap.

This is an out and back course of 32k on the bike.

The run will be an out-and-back flat route, across the mumbles bay, finishing on the red carpet.

Do I have to wear a wetsuit?
Yes, this is mandatory for all of our events and must cover the torso & thighs. It must NOT cover the hands and feet.

Can I wear my own swim hat?
If you wish to wear two swim hats that is fine but the issued swim hat MUST be worn on top.

What stroke can I use?
Although BTF rules have now allowed backstroke we will not allow you to do this stroke. Front facing strokes only.

Can I use Tri Bars (aerobars)?
Yes Tri Bars are allowed.

Can I wear headphones?
No, we discourage anyone wearing headphones during the race.

Is there a cut off?
Yes, there is an overall cut-off of 3.30pm
