Organiser's Description

The Otter has been described by hardened trail runners as “the pinnacle of a lifetime spent pursuing outdoor endurance events.” Known as 'The Grail of Trail' the route runs along Southern Africa's Indian Ocean coast. It traverses 4 rivers, one involving a swim, 11 “significant” climbs, and a total elevation gain of over 2600m. Two options: the 42k Otter Run, and the Otter Challenge - same 42k distance but with more time allowed. Both events involve a 5k 'prologue' familiarisation run.
