Organiser's Description

A multi-terrain event which has been held just before Christmas every year for 35 years, and has built up a reputation as one of the most fun events in the NE running calendar! The run is approximately 8 miles and covers country lanes, bridleways, footpaths and muddy farmer’s fields - generally ascending for the first half, then it's an exhilarating downhill run down to the finish! With costumes, a brass band and lots of cameraderie, the Poultry Run is a great way to get your festive holiday off to a flying start. And with some generous prizes of Christmas fare – including the eponymous poultry – it could also be a handy way to stock your larder!
