Course Details
Please remember to bring your own water bottle already filled as there will be no bottled water provided at events. ScottishPower water refill stations will be available to use.
The Wakefield 5K course is a single lap route mostly on grass. The route starts and finishes in the Thornes Park playing fields and then goes around the field next to the skatepark, next it goes into the rugby field, down to the aviary and then back uphill to the former college site. From the former college site, the route crosses the top of the hill on grass and comes down a steep hill on grass, before heading around the amphitheatre. The route is undulating in parts and includes inclines and declines
Please arrive 30 to 45 minutes before your start time so that you are prepared and ready to go on time
Further Information
Although most the course is along paths, some have quite short steep inclines/declines and large areas are run on grass. Therefore we would not recommend this course as being suitable for wheelchairs.
