Ranelagh Half Marathon

The race starts on the grass area at the junction of Riverside Drive and Ham Street, approximately 100m from the pre-race HQ (Richmond & Kew FC). From there, the course proceeds down the length of Riverside Drive, turning right at Hardwicke Road, then right again at Beaufort Road, down Burnell Avenue, before turning left onto Dysart Avenue and then right to rejoin Dukes Avenue.

At Ham Parade, runners turn right onto Richmond Road and then join Lower Ham Road, passing in front of the main entrance to the Hawker Centre. At the Half Mile Tree on Lower Ham Road, runners take a sharp right onto the upper towpath road towards Teddington Lock Footbridge. The course continues on the towpath, past Ham House car park and Petersham Meadows, until Buccleuch Gardens where runners turn left in front of the small café, staying on the tarmac path at all times.

The course continues on the path until just before Richmond Bridge, where it turns right at Bridge House Gardens, then left to stay on the bridge, before joining Richmond Road. Runners turn left onto Cambridge Park before rejoining Richmond Road at the junction with Beaufort Road. At Twickenham Civic Centre there is a left turn down Church Street and another left onto Church Lane down to the river along The Embankment opposite Eel Pie Island.

By Diamond Jubilee Gardens the route leaves the river along Wharf Lane and then turns left briefly onto King Street before following Cross Deep past Radnor Gardens, before turning left onto Strawberry Vale which becomes Twickenham Road and in turn Manor Road. There is a left turn onto Ferry Road near Teddington Lock.

The course then turns right along Broom Road which becomes Lower Teddington Road. There is a left turn at High Street onto Kingston Bridge (staying on the left hand side) then joining Horse Fair before turning left by the back of John Lewis where it rejoins the towpath once more. From there the route goes briefly into Canbury Gardens, turning right to join the start of Lower Ham Road.

After the Half Mile Tree the route retraces the first two miles of the race route, albeit in reverse. Runners pass the entrance to the Hawker Centre initially before heading left onto Dukes Avenue, left again onto Dysart Avenue before a right turn onto Burnell Avenue.

There is then another right turn onto Beaufort Road, a left onto Hardwicke Road before rejoining Dukes Avenue on the left. This becomes Riverside Drive, alongside Ham Lands, with a right hand bend which leads to the finish on grass near the post race HQ, Richmond and Kew FC.
