FAQs

  • How does it work?

We've teamed up with Voicemap to give you a state of the art, GPS triggered audio tour. Once you've signed up, you'll receive a code that will enable you to access the tour. As soon as you're on the route, the audio guide will direct you through the route with plenty of commentary along the way about the places of interest (big sights and hidden gems) that you see along the way. Take part on a date and time of your choice.

  • Is there a medal?

Optional medals are available when you sign up. You can choose to just buy the self-guided tour without the medal if they're not your jam.

  • When can I do it?

You can complete the audio tour at a time of your choice, between the dates advertised.

  • What if I get lost?

The audio is reliant on the GPS on your device. If the cue does fail, you can use the map in the app to follow the route until the next cue. There are also options to replay any audio that you've missed.

  • Can I run with friends?

You absolutely can! You will however need to make sure that you have all purchased your own individual access to the tour using VoiceMap, so you can all use the technology. There will be a lot of audio commentary on the tour to tell you about the things that you see on the route and their history.

  • Can one of us buy entry and lead a larger group?

You won't have a positive experience - you'll be plugged into the audio (which has lots of commentary about the things you see along the way, as well as the directions) whilst the rest of your group wouldn't. This would be very difficult to manage. You'll damage our small, family-run business. We have spent a considerable amount of time and money on creating this tour from scratch. The fees for individual entry are fair and help support our operations.

  • If I sign up now, when will I get access to the app?

If you sign up before the tour goes live, you'll get the code the day before. If you sign up afterwards, you'll get the code within 24 hours of signing up. Please email [email protected] with any queries on this.

  • Can I walk or cycle the route?

Walking - you will find longer gaps between the commentary, but that will be the only difference. Cycling - the route is designed to be completed on foot - we reference pavements and road crossings which aren't suitable for cycling. It's also not safe to be plugged into our audio whilst cycling. Plus - it won't properly as you'll travel too quickly, causing the audio to overlap
