Course Details

The format for this years Salcombe Cylco Regatta Sportive will be the same as year with participants being orgnaised into groups of 5-15 depending on their fitness and speed. Each group will be led buy a ride Captain who lead the group around the course. Each Ride captain will be responsible for the welfare of the members of their group. This brings the emphasis on having a relaxed and social cycling experience but still challenging yourself along the way. There will be a number of places to stop and rest, chat and have fun.

Take part in the beautiful 37km tour of the beatuiful Salcombe estaury. The routes takes you along the iconic Cliff road, up the notorious Sandhills Rd switch back and along the main road through Marlborough. At every turn there'll be another incline and another short descent as you wind your way past Galmpton and down towards South Milton Sands.

You'll then start to climb heading back towards Kingsbridge and onto the stunning Bowcombe Bridge where you'll head in land taking in the beautiful farms and countryside. As you reach Frogmore at the head of the creek you'll see the biggest climb of the day that comes before reaching the picturesque village of South Pool.

You may be tempted to have a break by the stream and who can blame you before the short but beautiful estaury road back to Salcombe. A quick ferry ride over to Salcombe and a finish back at Salcombe Bike Hire's HQ on Gould where food and drinks will be available to purchase.
