South Downs Way Ultra Run - 30 Miles
Sun 2nd March 2025
Organiser's Description
You will be guided by myself, an experienced ultra runner, running coach and Salomon athlete. This run may be hilly, but is still perfect as your first taste of ultra running, the route is taken care of and you will get the chance to learn from an experienced ultra runner, and get any running questions you may have answered.
We will explore the trails of the South Downs Way before heading towards the south coast through ancient woodland, small villages and nature reserves. We'll visit Kingley Vale, Kingley Vale is known for its twisted and ancient yews and includes a grove of veteran trees which are among the oldest living things in Britain. The run will also see us pick up the Sussex border path and small sections of the Shipwrights Way and the Staunton Way.
We finish where we started on Harting Down, where we will say our goodbyes.
Pace: This is not a race! We will run as a group and share this experience together. I advise that you have run at least 22 miles in training before trying this event. You should be able to comfortably run an average pace of 10 min/miles | 6 min/km for prolonged periods of time on the trail, and have a suitable level of fitness. Ultra running first timers encouraged!
