Location

The race takes place along the beautiful shoreline of Silverknowes and Cramond beaches.

Course Details

The race is 6 x 7km laps. The loop starts at Gypsy Brae Park and heads Westwards towards Cramond along the foreshore where you run around the ‘flagpole’ before turning back towards Granton. It is all tarmac and is a flat course with very few obstacles, such as trees, to manoeuvre. It will start and finish at the same area.
Please follow all instructions from our race marshals as they are there to ensure your safety.

FAQs

  • Where are the water stops?

There will be a water and fuel station at 7km, 14km, 21km, 28km and 35km.

  • When is the race briefing?

There will be a race safety brief given to all runners 5 minutes before the event to go over any safety issues and give the opportunity for runners to ask any questions.

  • Is there a bag drop?

Unsecured baggage storage will be available at the Blast Running Gazebo. The race organisers take no responsibility for any items stored before, during or after the race.

  • Age restrictions

For the full marathon, participants should be 18 or above. Solo children aged between 10 -17 can run by themselves as part of a team but please note that they are not the responsibility of the race organiser, neither on the course or at the start/finish area. There will be friendly marshals on the course whom they can ask for any assistance plus a designated meeting point arranged by the organisers (the registration gazebo) but Blast Running cannot be held responsible for the safety of your child whilst you are not with them, either on the course or at the start/finish area.

  • Can I run with a buggy?

Are welcome but please make yourself aware of the safety recommendations for pushing a young child in a running buggy.

  • Can I run with a dog?

Unfortunately our insurance will not cover this.

Registration

All participants must register to collect their timing chip before 6.30pm on the day of the race. Registration will take place at Blast Running Gazebo, Gypsy Brae Recreation Ground EH5 1QD. Registration will open at 5pm and close at 6.45pm. For safety reasons please do not swap shoe chips with other participants, if you are involved in a medical situation we can use your chip information to get you the help you need.

Race Finish

The race will finish at Gypsy Brae Recreation Ground where your family, friends and supporters can come along and cheer you across the finish line, socially distanced of course. We have arranged for a wood fired oven pizza caterer who will also have a variety of soft drinks. This is available to all runners and supporters, to prevent a licence breach your hands will be
stamped to show the vendor that you / your team (including supporters) are ‘one of us’. Prices start at £7 and you can pay by using your phone or card. There will be a Sunset Marathon Pizza – topped with protein and salt to help you recover!

Race Limit

Current COVID restrictions limit us to 500 runners in a race and 50 in a bubble so you will be started off in waves if this is still the case.

Toilets

Regrettably we do not have nearby public toilets however we will have portaloos on that evening. There are also toilets in Morrisons, 3 Waterfront Broadway, EH5 1SA.

Prize Giving & Results

We are an eco-conscious company and our wooden UK made medals will be handed out at the finish line.
Results will be emailed out following the race.
