Organiser's Description

LUCKY DIP MEDALS ONLY REMAINING - MAIN EVENT MEDAL HAS SOLD OUT

Join Saturn Running for our Remembrance run and help us to honour our fallen heroes and earn a fabulous themed medal. The 2023 medal is currently being designed, but it is going to be amazing.

This is a 6 hour & 32 minutes timed event you can choose your distance from 5km to ultra. At 11am we will have a 2 minute silence runners will stop to remember those who bravely fought and gave their lives over 100 years ago and in those conflicts since. We will deduct the 2 minutes from your time in order to give you your running finish time. You can complete as many laps of a 4.37mile (7.0km) looped course along the River Wear as you wish within the 7 hour limit.

We welcome runners of all abilities and as long as you complete at least one lap will earn a stunning remembrance themed medal, although we do hope most runners will continue on the course to take part in the remembrance silence. There is no maximum distance and you can continue running and complete as many laps as you can manage within the time limit! We will also have a 50k option for those wishing to run this distance.

For those runners who choose to run 3 laps or more, you will also earn a Saturn Running half marathon, mega half marathon, marathon, ultra or 50k pins which can be attached to your medal ribbon.

The course is along the River Wear path and classified as a trail run.

The aid station is at the start line and therefore available every 4.37miles. The toilets are situated in the Durham Amateur Rowing Club which is available for our runners use from 8am and for the entire event. There is also a bar and showers situated in Rowing Club should you wish to use them. Parking facilities are nearby.

Places are strictly limited and event registration will close once these are sold out. Minimum age 12yrs. If you would like to run with someone under 12 please contact us directly. We have two events running at the same time. The main event is a UKA Permitted event and is for all runners aged 18 or over. In addition, we have a non-UKA event for runners under the age of 18. Runners under the age of 18 will automatically be included in the non-UKA start list and this event will start 1 minute after the main event.
