Organiser's Description

Don't miss out on the third edition of the Run Wild Dorset Trail Running Event.

This event is set in the beautiful surroundings of Mappercombe Manor, on private farmland, where we have three epic trail races for you. The routes will take you off the beaten track, to explore hidden farmland - crossing fields, tracks and woodland.

The terrain is typical of West Dorset, with hills and some steep climbs but the most incredible views to see when you reach the top.

This is a great way to explore Dorset and for those just starting their running journey, we have a 5K or 10K route or for those avid runners, we have the lengthy half marathon. The routes are also dog-friendly.

Running or walking, these routes are suitable for the whole family. With brilliant marshalls along the route and fuel stations dotted at regular intervals, you will be well looked after.

To encourage a speedy finish, there is a soft drink token for every finisher, together with a unique finisher medal and a variety of local food and drink to provide refreshment.

Book early to avoid disappointment - entry prices will increase in the New Year!

Lovely small race event across unspoilt farmland. Tough course. The horse racing world would call the going 'very soft' I found it well sign posted over 10k. Enough elevation to keep it interesting.

Lovely route, amazing scenery, everyone was friendly. Finish line could be in a better place, and maybe issue a clearer warning about running through very uneven cow fields. Sure the event will only get better as the years go on.

Stunning. A lovely farming community organised event. Loved the ethos; take nothing away, leave nothing behind, and the welcome from the people involved. Great to have 3 distances, and a small entry so made it very friendly. However, not for the faint hearted, the course is over farmland with some difficult terrain so don't expect a PB here. Beautiful surroundings, wonderful people and dogs welcome. Will certainly consider doing this again. Diane

In a breathtakingly picturesque setting, this race boasts a delightful ambiance that captures the hearts of all participants. The course presents an exhilarating challenge, expertly designed and meticulously marked to ensure a smooth experience. Adding a touch of eco-consciousness, the biodegradable medals embedded with wildflower seeds are a beautiful and innovative memento. This race comes highly recommended for anyone seeking an unforgettable, environmentally responsible sporting event.

Beautiful run on picturesque farmland, well organised and a delicious milkshake to finish what more could you want! We will definitely be back next year!

Some sections would benefit from better marking, I was not the only person unsure of the route in a few places, did actually take a wrong turn on one occasion, fortunately didn’t cost too much time. Otherwise very happy with the run.

Stunning location, met lots of lovely people and the milkshake afterwards was delicious!! For me personally (eyesight not so good now!!) would have liked the marker arrows a bit more prominent, big bigger and brighter colour maybe. Loved the medal.
