Ormskirk Parkrun

The course is 5000m (5K) long. The course is at Edge Hill University, Ormskirk. The course is run on a mixture of trail paths, pavement and rubbered surface. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.

Course Description

Starting from level with the track floodlights post, head anti-clockwise around the running track almost completing one lap, when you'll bear right up the hill. Continue up the hill keeping right at the fork, turning left at Hairpin Hill junction (HPH) and left again at Ruff Junction (RJ) for an anti-clockwise loop of the small lap. Turn left onto paved Halls Avenue, then second left at the end of the fenced court onto the path running along the edge of the other fenced courts/outside tables area. You are now approaching Hairpin Hill again whereby you ascend taking a 180 at the fork back up the hill to the junction. At HPH this time turn right, keeping to the left at the bottom of the course whilst you do an anti-clockwise loop of the big playing fields. Keep straight ahead to RJ, then left and left again at HPH to repeat the big loop. When you return back to HPH go right back down the hill following the route you started with, going clockwise around the running track to the finish at the end of the opposite straight. We are sorry that this course is not open to dogs (other than guide dogs), by university regulation.

There are free changing facilities including hot showers and free lockers (£1 to use, returnable) about 100 metres from the start line. Note that in January 2015 our facilities will move to the new buildings next to the new athletics track as part of the overall campus development (the start point for the run may also change).
