The race kicks off at The Forum on the Herts University Campus and takes participants along the picturesque pavements of College Lane, leading to the popular Alban Way. With only a slight elevation gain of just 3 metres, runners will enjoy a smooth and speedy route as they navigate through scenic landscapes. As you make your way back, prepare to relish the supportive atmosphere created by enthusiastic marshals, and don’t forget to capture the moment with FREE event photos! All finishers will receive a custom-designed medal, along with delicious snacks and goodies at the finish line. Join us for the 10th anniversary event of Hatfield 5!
Featuring the Herts County Champsionships.
The fastest 5 miler around (3rd fastest time in the UK 2022!)
The race starts at The Forum, on the Herts University Campus, before heading along the pavements of college lane. After two sweeping bends, you are on The Alban Way, one of the most popular running routes in Hatfield and St Albans.
You will turn onto Wilkins Green Lane, and follow it to the end where you will have only completed 3 metres of climbing!
After crossing the Alban Way you'll join Smallford Lane and another sweeping corner will take you onto Sleapcross Gardens, before meandering onto the super-flat and straight A414 footpath.
Taking the footpath onto Comet Way, you'll head back to the final mile, along the Alban Way and back into race HQ, having finished one of the fastest 5 mile courses in the UK!
