This was my first marathon and it was a brilliant first one at that. The only issue I found was that there were not enough portaloo's - which obviously meant that they'd fill very quickly..... Urinals were in abundance and this was fine. Generally as an event the organization was very smooth and the appeared seamless. Route is lovely. Weather is great at this time of the year. Barcelona is a aesthetically pleasing place to run. The crowd were really supportive which is always nice. Plenty of refreshments along the way but I would have a few gels in the back pocket. Overall very good experience. I would totally recommend.

Barcelona. The warm weather makes this a fabulous spectator event, but does add to the challenge of running 42km. The course itself is extremely flat which was a bonus. The drinks and fuelling stations were adequately staffed and the segments of oranges were the best thing I have ever tasted (I had just ran 30km so maybe I'm not actually fit to judge that). The event was well organised and the expo was definitely worth a visit. Finally, the all important medal was beautifully designed. We stayed at the B Hotel which was reasonably priced and literally across the road from the start/finish line and the expo.
