Organiser's Description

For those of you who like your trail running Feats to be BIG, we give to you the Classic Element Race Series. Four trail running events based on the 4 classic elements….Air, Fire, Water and Earth. Whether it’s running under never-ending sky (Air), battling over ancient rugged coastline (Water), Pushing yourself on under a relentless sun (Fire) or clawing over muddy hills and rainy valleys (Earth), BigFeat Events have developed a series of races that will Challenge you, Awaken you and Inspire you.

SYMBOLISING THE CLASSIC ELEMENT WATER, WE BRING TO YOU…BIGSEA!

Join us on the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset for BigSea, a stunning trail running event that starts and finishes on the beautiful sand of Knoll Beach at Studland.

With 50km and 18 Mile courses to choose from, the 2 single lap routes will take you out to places including The Purbeck Hills, Corfe Castle, Chapmans Pool, Dancing Ledge, Durlston Castle and Old Harry Rocks.

This is possibly the most scenic race you can do in this area with the very best of coast and countryside! Spectacular views and amazing trails await you!

50km – 8am to 8.45am

Start Times
Both distances start at 9am

Mandatory Kit
All runners will be required to carry 500ml of hydration with them. Most will have hydration vests but handheld soft flasks will be fine. As weather is changeable, especially in winter, runners are advised to also wear (and carry) appropriate clothing for the conditions. We also strongly advise to download the GPX of the route onto a wearable watch or mobile device. Although this is a marked course event, arrows have been known to be tampered with, so a good understanding of the route is advisable. There will be a bag drop tent at the start line. All bags will then be transported to the finish location and will be ready for you to collect when you get there.

Cut Off Times
50K – 8.5 hours
18 miles – 5 hours

Trees not Tees & your medal

We are proud to be working with Trees Not Tees, giving you the option to plant a tree instead of receiving an official event medal.

If you would prefer to have a tree planted please select 'Trees Not Tees' and we will pay for a tree to be planted in place of providing a medal.

If you would like to plant a tree and still receive a medal, you can do so by making a small contribution to Trees Not Tees.
