A group of runners in athletic gear stand side by side in front of an industrial-style backdrop, preparing for a race. Each participant wears a bib number, and some are smiling at the camera. Various spectators and event staff can be seen in the background. Two tall glasses of amber beer stand on a stone surface, each adorned with a blue and gold medal draped around its base. The background features a cityscape with modern buildings, a bridge, and a partly cloudy blue sky. A woman wearing a high-visibility vest stands next to a table covered with medals and water bottles. She is smiling and holding several medals. The background features a brick wall and a partial view of a staircase railing. A Birmingham Black Country Half Marathon medal with three running figures and a black and green ribbon that reads "Birmingham Black Country. Five people in matching green shirts and medals smile together outdoors after a race. They stand on a brick walkway, some with hands on hips, appearing happy and accomplished. My first HM and what a great one to run! The route was fantastic, mostly flat but there was a fair amount of bridges to run over but they just changed things up a bit. The event was extremely well organised, perfectly spaced water stations and plenty of marshals where needed. The start was awesome - being able to go when you were ready rather than being in a huge crowd was fantastic! Signing up for next year too!

Very enjoyable race. The event was well organised with good communication to the runners from the organisers. The marshalls and crew were excellent and very friendly. Getting to the start by train couldn't be more convenient. The race is mostly flat but the bridges at the end were quite challenging on tired legs. There's a mixture of surfaces along the route including compacted earth, gritty tow paths, mud, tarmac and slippery cobbles. The scenery offers a real contrast between very pretty canals and urban hidiousness under the M5. Overall, this was a great race and one I plan to do again.

Wasn't sure what go expect with it being my first race, but it was so well organised from the start to finish. Bags were dropped in Wolverhampton and taken to Birmingham for collections. Route was well sign posted all along the route and lovely Marshalls to encourage you on. The goody bags were a lovely bonus also medals and t shirts. Would definitely do this race again. Thank you!!
