Did this last year- wasn’t expecting much from a town that isn’t exactly picturesque, but it was genuinely one of the best races I’ve done. Well organised, plentiful facilities in the race village as they open the stadium toilets for use, easy parking and an enjoyable route. Would definitely do again

The course has a few short hill sections but is mostly flat and provides an interesting run around the area. Organisation was excellent , with enthusiastic encouragement from all the marshals. Five stars must go to the amazing choice of the stadium venue: indoor toilets! Plenty of indoor space to shelter from the rain while waiting! My pit crew (husband) would like me to do this run every year. He had a warm bar area with seating, hot drinks and a bacon barm. He was able to watch the finish from the covered stand, where I joined him to enjoy my cupcake. Well done to all the organisers!

Not nearly as scary as expected. Just before the race I was told there was a 900m ascent. Turned out to be 46m in the end. It was a really well organised event and it was really pleasing to come bursting round the corner of the stadium to finish in front of a cheering crowd. The course itself was well marshalled and signposted (which was handy given the number of lefts/rights through the town centre) and there was plenty of support. Will definitely come back to get another PB
