Getting There by Car:

Roker Beach is easily accessible by road and is located just a few minutes from Sunderland city centre. For Sat Nav users, use postcode SR6 0PP. There are several pay-and-display car parks nearby, including:

Marine Walk Car Park (SR6 0PL) – closest to the start line

St George’s Terrace Car Park (SR6 9LX)

Seaburn Seafront Car Parks – slightly further north but walkable

Please allow plenty of time to park, as the area can get busy on event day.

By Public Transport:
Sunderland is well-connected by public transport, with several options to reach Roker Beach:

Metro: Take the Tyne and Wear Metro to St Peter’s or Seaburn stations — both are approximately a 15–20 minute walk from the start area.

Bus: Local bus services run regularly from Sunderland city centre and surrounding areas to Roker. Check Go North East or Stagecoach websites for the latest timetables.

Train: National rail services run to Sunderland Station, where you can connect to a Metro or local bus to reach Roker Beach.

Cycling/Walking:
The seafront is also easily accessible via coastal cycle paths and walking routes. There will be designated areas for secure bike parking near the event village.
