Organiser's Description

Bluebell Trail Run will take place on Sunday 11th May 2025 in Dalkeith Country Park, Midlothian, a beautiful setting.
The event was established in 2018.

There is a 1 k family run, a 5k and a 10k.

This event is a fundraiser in support of MYPAS, a charity providing free services to help children and young people deal with problematic alcohol and drug use, bereavement, anxiety, depression and self-harm, and LGBTQ+ through counselling, art therapy, groups, one-to-one support and having a supportive presence, and through the Schools Counselling services.
MYPAS services are free, confidential, welcoming and tailored to each individual child or young person's needs.

Beautiful course, the 5 k is quite flat until after the bluebell fields then you tackle Heartbreak Hill! Then a short run to the finish. The 10k follows the same course then continues on more challenging terrain to the finish.
Trail shoes recommended.

The 1k is suitable for children under 12 and children under 5 must have an adult with them, who runs for free.

Entry is free for East and Midlothian High School pupils.
All finishers receive a bespoke medal.
Category winners trophies and school team prize.

The race village includes free event parking, catering, toilets, baggage tent, first aid; warm up.
There is nearby public transport.

The park has cafes, shops, extensive walking and a children's' adventure playground.

How to Get There

The Park entrance is less than five minutes from Edinburgh City Bypass. The main vehicle entrance is King’s Gate, a left turn shortly after Sheriffhall Roundabout on the A6106. The Park postcode is EH22 1ST or you can find it on what3words. Larger vehicle drivers please be aware this entrance has a height restriction of 2.7m so you’ll need to enter via Town Gate.

Cars can also enter and must exit The Park via Town Gate which can be found on Dalkeith High Street. Postcode for your Sat Nav is EH22 2NA. The What3words for this entrance are:///uptown.cactus.takeovers

If you’re travelling from Edinburgh to Dalkeith, jump on a Lothian Bus number 3 to Dalkeith High Street. Dalkeith Country Park is then a short five to 10-minute walk away. For up to date bus routes and timetables please check Lothian Buses.

The main pedestrian entrance to The Park is Town Gate (postcode EH22 2NA). You can then follow the footpath into The Park.

There are regular trains from the Borders and Edinburgh City Centre to Eskbank Station, a 25 minute walk from The Park. Or jump on the number 46 Lothian Bus from Tesco Hardengreen to Dalkeith High Street. From Dalkeith High Street it’ll take about five to 10 minutes to walk to The Park.
