Organiser's Description

One of two events in conjunction with our Charity Partners at Alzheimer’s Research UK, the Cambridgeshire event is part of our Classic Series which has been designed with all riders in mind. There are three routes to choose from and nothing too technical, so we would love to see as many riders joining us as possible.

This event helps raise awareness for the fantastic work Alzheimer’s Research UK does and goes a long way into making breakthroughs for Dementia treatment and care possible. Regardless of which route you choose from the four on offer, the event will take you on a fantastic ride through the County of Cambridgeshire.

Starting at Huntingdon Racecourse, all routes head out past Brampton Wood and round the edge of Grafham Water. The Long route undulates continuously along the route clocking up nearly 800m of vertical ascent without ever going over 80m above sea level.

The three routes available will take you on an adventure out of Cambridgeshire, across to Bedfordshire and, on the Long Route, you’ll even briefly ride up into the East Midlands county of Northamptonshire. Across the three routes and three counties, you’ll be treated to many kilometres of quiet country lane riding with a variety of forestry and farmland lining the route.

Of course, you’ll be rewarded for all your efforts as you cross the finish line to receive a finishers medal and other goodies from our partners.

Very well organised with friendly staff both before a d after the event. Good communication before the event with good level of detail. Course very well sign posted . Route was very good and avoided main roads apart from just one or two very short stretches. Just one or two of the roads had poor surfaces ( big potholes) which given the rain made it a bit tricky at times but nothing to detract from the event. Not 100% sure about the free bottle beer at the end though !
