JOIN US FOR THE CANNOCK CHASE RUNNING FESTIVAL!
SUNDAY 12TH OCTOBER 2024
These undulating trails take you running through the stunning Cannock Chase Forest. The race is run on a mix of surfaces including dirt trails, gravel and tarmac. Each mile is accurately marked out with signposts and we have plenty of helpers to keep you on track and encourage you on your way to the finish.
This event will be held at Cannock Chase Forest which is within the Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
With this event being only 20 miles from central Birmingham and just outside Stafford, it is easily accessible by car.
This epic venue will host the 2022 Commonwealth Games mountain biking at the Forestry England site! As well as this, our Event village including the start and finish lines will be positioned at the concert site, which has previously hosted George Ezra, Jools Holland and Tom Jones!

Course Details
We will have a lead bike and marshals all around the course as well as mile & km signs and arrows. The course is one lap for the 5k, 2 laps for the 10k and 4 laps for the Half Marathon.
This undulating course is on high quality trail paths.
There WILL be pedestrians on the course, so please be aware of this. We have marshals around the course and signs but this is not a road race, you have to pay very close attention to where you are going. We recommend you do not use earphones and you need to be aware of your surroundings.

Really good intro to Trail running - this was my first non road run.
I have plenty of experience running half marathons but this was a completely different experience.
I found it challenging at times but great fun.
I am a nature lover so this suited me perfectly and it was very well organised so I didn’t feel stressed at the start trying to get my number.
However please be aware that dogs are allowed to be walked throughout the course though as it always takes place on a Sunday and the half marathon starts at 9am, most of the dog walkers don’t became apparent until well into the run.
I was initially worried about doing the 10k as Cannock Chase is notoriously hilly. However, the route was absolutely gorgeous and though undulating, not at all the big hills I was expecting. The way they mapped the route was great and the organisation and team were just so wonderful abd supportive. Event Village was large and toilets onside too. Another great event!!
