Colchester Zoo Stampede 10k
Come and run at colchester zoo, home to over 260 species and set in 60 acres of parkland and lakes!
The zoo is proudly listed in the top 2 zoos in the uk and listed as 11th best zoo around the world as part of the tripadvisor travellers’ choice attractions.
On May 19th 2019 you will have the unique chance to run the second Colchester Stampede 10k at Colchester Zoo. The event, which supports the charity Action for the Wild, will run through the Zoo for 1k before heading out onto the closed roads before finishing back inside the Zoo.
Please note that there is a strict 2 hour cut off for the 10k distance and a 3 hour cut off time for the half marathon distance due to the road closures.

By Car - Colchester Zoo is located just south of Colchester. Take the A1124 exit (Junction 26) off the main A12 following the brown elephant signs and using the new Stanway Western Bypass.
By Bus - All bus services to Colchester Bus Station regularly connect with the number 75 for Maldon or Tiptree and Colchester Zoo. Please click here to view details of the number 75 bus timetable on the FirstGroup website.
By Train - Colchester Main Train Station can be reached from Liverpool Street services from London within in an hour or is easily reached along the Lowestoft or Norwich networks to Ipswich and then on to Colchester. Colchester Zoo is just 10 minutes by taxi or can be reached by bus.
Car parking is free and disabled car parking spaces are available close to the zoo entrance. NB Blue badges must be displayed to use the disabled parking area.
Both the 10k and Half Marathon races will start within the Zoo as the Elephants, Zebras, Rhinos and Giraffes watch over. The course will run you through the Zoo and take you out onto the surrounding closed roads for a beautifully scenic running route before heading back into the Zoo for a final run through the Zoo to finish!
