Cordwell Colossus

Starting at Holmesfield Village Hall at 9.00am, you head north via woodland track before curving round in an anticlockwise direction over hilly farmland, woodland and rural trails. The views from the high ground are terrific and the route conditions range from highly runnable trails and lanes to more involving single track and trods. The route will be marked on the less obvious sections and a GPX file and route notes are available on the race webpage. Basic navigation skills will be desirable.

There will be 2 well stocked checkpoints (sweet and savoury) out on the route with further refreshments at the village hall for finishers.

Participants have 6 hours to complete The Cordwell Colossus. You must pass through all checkpoints within the stated time limit. (Miss a CP = DNF)

Any runner who is, in the opinion of the race directors or marshals, unfit to continue will be withdrawn from the race. THEIR DECISION IS FINAL.

Kit check, you will carry the mandatory kit at all times during the race (see below)

You must log in with the marshals at each checkpoint.

You must notify a marshal at the first instance if you decide to retire from the event. Once you retire from the event, your race number must be surrendered and you will not be allowed to continue.

Do not drop any litter.

Respect other users of the countryside, fellow competitors and marshals.

No climbing over fences / walls, please use the stiles/gates.

No dogs allowed (the route makes use of farmland with grazing animals).

Runners must be aged 18 or over on race day

This is a summer trail event - All entrants are advised to wear appropriate clothing for the conditions including cap and sunscreen.

Waterproof Jacket with taped seams.

Trail shoes (if there is a prolonged dry spell beforehand then road shoes will be acceptable - this will be communicated beforehand)

500ml of water / energy drink as a minimum. This will be increased to 1 litre if conditions on the day dictate.

Sufficient nutrition for a day on the trail.

Whistle.

Drinking cup or bottle (No plastic cups provided at checkpoints)
