The Draycote Water Running Festival returns to the calendar for 2027, giving runners the chance to enjoy this much-loved waterside event after a break while venue building works took place. We're excited to bring this event back to the Midlands running calendar.
Set at a 240-hectare reservoir and country park near Rugby, this summer race day offers open views, scenic paths and a welcoming atmosphere for runners of all abilities. The route takes you alongside the water, creating a memorable setting for every mile.

Route and elevation
The course is a gently undulating loop around the reservoir (5k is out and back route, 10k out and back + 1 lap, HM out and back + 2 laps). All on tarmac, with great views the whole way around.
Please note there will be NO DOGS allowed at this event

Great race, PB course (if you get the weather), marshalls are good although could have reminded the 5k'ers to keep right more as you do cross paths with the 5/10k and half runners. Event free Parking was the only small negative as the weather had made the grass car park undriveable we all had to use the pay and display which meant everyone waiting for the same machines caused a slight panic. Overall a well run event for a 1000ish runners.
