Driffield Sprint Triathlon

A pool swim in a triathlon is great if swimming is not your strongest discipline, the enclosed environment away from the elements is reassuring and lets you focus your energy on swimming. Similarly, it’s easier to navigate than open water, reducing the likelihood of you swimming more than the necessary distance!

The Driffield Sprint Triathlon is known as one of the fastest-sprint distance triathlon courses in the area.

Comprising a 400m pool swim in Driffield Leisure Centre, followed by a undulating 20km road bike course and a 5km run around the grounds of Driffield School.

Family, Friends and Supporters – We actively encourage spectators to come along to cheer and enjoy the event environment. Perhaps you want to come along and get a feel for what it’s like to participate.

Mechanical Support – Planet X Bike Technicians will be available to provide essential mechanical support. Don’t expect them to carry out a full service; this is for small last, minute basic support. Please note, there may be a charge for some parts, you will be asked in advance before a repair is made.

Car Parking – there is ample parking facilities on-site, please follow instructions and speed limits on site.

Toilets – there are toilets on-site.

Medical and emergency – there will be emergency medical personnel in attendance. For minor bumps and scratches, we suggest you bring along a personal first aid kit.

Refreshments, food and drinks – refreshments and snacks will be available to purchase at the venue. Finishers will also receive snacks!

Comprising 16 lengths of a 25m pool at Driffield Leisure Centre.

Similarly, it’s easier to navigate than open water, reducing the likelihood of you swimming more than the necessary distance!

Having completed the swim, it’s an easy jog to the bike rack to locate your bike and prepare for the 20k bike leg.

An undulating 20km road bike course around the roads of Driffield, with gradual climbs and gentle descents.

Although a road bike is recommended, the course makes the ride suitable for almost any bike. Of course, you will likely complete the ride in a faster time if you use a road bike and are used to riding one; however, you will be able to complete the race on anything with two wheels. Make sure it’s is in good working order and roadworthy. Marshalls will be looking over bikes in the racking area.

For the third and final discipline of your race, you will exit the transition area after racking your bike and venture onto an off-road 5km course within the grounds of Driffield School.

As you cross the finish line, you will receive your Marauder finishers T-shirt, and you can proudly say, “I’ve done a Triathlon!”

Drinks and refreshments will be available at the finish. The race will be chip timed. You will be able to find out your overall time and times for each segment of the race immediately
