Eastbourne Triathlon returns bigger and even better in 2024 with Children's Events, a Novice Super-Sprint, Sprint, Standard Distances Triathlons; Duathlons, Aquathlons, Swims and Relays.The Standard Distance is a GB Age-Group qualification for the 2025 World Triathlon World Standard Distance Championships!

The event sold out again in 2023 and is expected to do so even earlier in 2024 so to avoid disappointment and make the most of the early bird deals on offer it is highly recommended you secure your place asap.

This multi-award-winning event is one of the most scenic triathlons in the country; swimming against the iconic backdrop of Eastbourne's pier, cycling over the stunning Beachy Head on fully closed roads and finishing with a fast flat seafront run along Eastbourne's historic promenade.

Experience the beauty of the South Downs coast. Swim against the backdrop of Eastbourne's historic pier, cycle on fully closed roads over the famous Beachy Head Road and run along the iconic seaside promenade.

The beautiful seaside town of Eastbourne welcomes athletes back for the Eastbourne Triathlon on the 16th June 2024. Athletes of all abilities and experience, from novice to elite, can sign up to take on the challenge. Starting from the lifeguard’s beach, triathletes will take on an iconic route, swimming against the backdrop of the historic Eastbourne pier, cycling on closed-roads through the South Downs National Park via Beachy Head and running on the iconic promenade to Holywell, before finishing on the Western Lawns.

One of the most challenging Standard Distance triathlons in the country. A 1500m swim against the iconic backdrop of Eastbourne pier, followed by 36.6km bike route with 680m (2240 feet) of climbing and a scenic seafront 10km run. There are also relay, duathlon (run/bike/run) and aquathon (swim/run) options.

More experienced triathletes and those looking to race a standard distance race for the first time. Age-group athletes seeking qualification for the GB Age Group Team.

Swim: 1,500m (sea)
Bike: 36.6km (2 laps of a closed-road circuit) - 800m elevation
Run: 10km (mostly tarmac with a section of gravel path)

Awards: For the Standard Triathlon, awards will be given for the first three male and female overall plus first three in every 5-year age group. For the duathlon, aquathlon and relay options awards will be given to the top three male and female overall.

The Super-Sprint Novice Triathlon is ideal for anyone wanting to try the sport of triathlon for the first time. The event will start with a 300m sea swim, followed by a 10km cycle on a closed-roads and finishing with a 2.5km run.

Perfect for...

Anyone who wants to try a triathlon for the first time. No experience required however you must be able to swim at least 300m unaided.

Swim: 300m (sea)
Bike: 10km
Run: 2.5km

Awards: First three male and female and first three vetertan 40+ male and female.

Ages

Ages are taken on 31st December 2024. For example, if an 8 year old has their birthday in December they should enter the TriStar 1 (age 9-10) race.

British Triathlon

You must have a British Triathlon Race Pass (£8 for adults or £2 for under 25's) providing a race licence and public liability insurance. You MUST agree to the British Triathlon Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy

Very well organised, didn't have any problems finding my way around the course. The cycle was toughest part of the race as there is quite a bit of climbing which added to the challenge. Could have been a few more toilets made available to the public in the entertainment area. Would recommend.
