FAQs
-
Is the number of runners limited?
Yes, we have a limited number of participants for each category (1.5k for children, 5k, 10k, 21k). At the moment we foresee a limit of 500 people.
-
What are the age limitations?
14 years of age on the event day to take part in the 5k. 15 years of age on the event day to take part in the 10k. 16 years of age on the event day to take part in a Half Marathon.
-
Do I need to pay for the registration separately to the donation?
No, there are no payments other than the donation made when registering. We aim to raise as much as possible for the provided causes and are not splitting the costs between registration fee and donation. All of the registration-related donations are transferred directly to the accounts of respective charities.
-
How will my registration fee / donation be used?
Neither of our partner charities funds purchases of lethal equipment. Razom Foundation raises donations to respond to the humanitarian crisis by addressing urgent food and medical needs of those affected. The UACC focuses solely on defense strategies that are aimed at reducing life-threatening risks for the Ukrainian defenders. EMpower has created a Recovery Fund aimed at supporting the Ukrainian youth population in the long-run.
Who will my donation go to?
Humanitarian & Medical (via Razom fdn.)
With the raised funds, Razom will dispatch large ticket food items and tacmed. Food for 10 people for a week in a war-torn zone costs $170
Razom volunteers assembled more than 50,000 individual first aid kits (IFAKs) and over 700 medical backpacks. $2,548,823 has been spent to date on groceries distributions to those affected and vulnerable, supporting the families of veterans, renovating homes for displaced families etc.
Razom was born out of the Revolution of Dignity in 2014, it focused on the War Emergency Response since 24th February. Since then Razom shipped hundreds of tonnes of tactical medical equipment and critical medical supplies, having deployed $19,095,587 and delivered in-kind medical donations valued at $8,345,852.
Military (via UACC)
With the raised funds, the UACC will dispatch thermal vision ($3,500), night vision ($3,200) scopes, drones or body armor
The Ukrainian American Coordinating Council was founded in 1960s, now it provides support to defence units in Ukraine. The UACC has received a special license for regulated, military-grade items.
Since 24th February, 3,854 helmets, 11,682 body armor, 22 drones, 1 Cicada UAV complex, 14 pickups and other aid have been dispatched. The UACC has partnered with a prominent local organization, Come Back Alive, who distributes the aid to territorial defenses and hotspots where these are most needed.
After having received a US export license to ship thermal vision and night vision scopes, the UACC has bee focusing on the AGM PVS-14 AP Night Vision Monocular (Gen2+ AP) and the FLIR Scion Professional Thermal Monocular (PTM) PTM166, PTM336, and PTM355.
Youth empowerment (via EMpower)
Ukraine-dedicated Recovery fund aims to support the affected young population, including marginalized young women and girls, for 10 years ahead.
Ukraine-focused Decade Appeal has raised $275,000 so far.
EMpower has 22 years of experience in youth development. The organization awarded $40,000,000 so far with 1,266 grants made and 863,166 youth directly impacted.
EMpower commits to help through funding locally based NGOs to provide access to support to deal with the trauma of war, quality teaching, and support to rebuild incomes of those affected. EMpower will build the capacity of civil society in country to respond to the crisis and consequences of the war. The organization commits to support Ukrainian young people for ~10 years into the future to help with the long-term rebuilding and recovery. The focus will be on the most marginalized young people, including young women and girls who face additional barriers and are amongst those most at risk.
UNITED24
UNITED24 was launched by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy as the main venue for collecting charitable donations in support of Ukraine. Funds will be transferred to the official accounts of the National Bank of Ukraine and allocated by assigned ministries to cover the most pressing needs: defence and demining, medical aid and rebuilding.
The platform has been launched in May and has so far collected USD 60mn+, with the vast majority of funds directed to the defence of the country.
