Organiser's Description

This event returns to the town of Frome in 2019 and will again be run on closed roads around the town and surrounding villages. All races start at the Frome Town Football Ground at 10:00 am and make their way through the streets of the town and surrounding countryside returning through the Town centre to the football ground for the finish line.

Limited free car parking will be available at Frome Cricket Club, 30 Rodden Road, Frome BA11 2AH. Race day parking will be open from 08.00 to 13.30.

What time does the Frome Half Marathon start?

The Frome Half Marathon, 10K and 5K events all start at 10:00 am on Sunday 21st July 2019. Please arrive earily to allow plenty of time for registration which is open from 08:30 am to 09:15 am.

The course record for the 13.1 mile race is 01:08:30 set by Andrew Davies in 2017

What is the course like?

The Frome Half Marathon course is a challenging and hilly run through town centre streets as well as countryside lanes. It is suitable for all ability types, but the event does not offer a flat course.

Are there prizes available?

Prizes are available for the top three runners overall and for the top runner in each of the veteran categories.

When do I get my race number?

Your race number will be sent to you in the post as part of your race pack if you have signed up more than 14 days before the event. If you entered after this point please collect your race number on the day between 8:00 am and 9:30 am.

Is this a traffic free race?

The Frome half marathon is a closed road event which allows for fast finish times and a safe course for all runners. There is a strict 3 hour time limit for the event which is imposed by the road closure schedule.

What included with race entry?

Entry to the 10k race includes:

  • Finishers medal
  • Goody bag
  • Accurate chip timing


Can I wear headphones during the race?

Whilst the official organisers do not recommend the use of headphones whilst racing, usage is permitted. Please be aware that entrants are expected to be able to hear safety marshalls and other races to ensure safety. Runners can be disqualified if they are unable to hear instructions due to the use of headphones.

Where can I see my race results?

Official race results will be posted live to the event website and sent out to all registered finishers within 24 hours of the event.

Can I park at the event?

Designated parking for racers is available at 30 Rodden Rd, Frome BA11 2AH. Please do not park at the race start line.

Challenging. A very undulating course, good start and finish marshalling, great support and nice medal

Good local event. A lovely hilly race which was well supported by the local people, a few problems with timing issues but this seemed to get sorted quite quickly. Might have been better if the fun run was started at 9.30am, this would then have allowed more time before the other 3 races were started.
