Organiser's Description

23 years on and the G3 off road race is still the best and toughest winter trail run in the South East. With cracking views from the start, the route crosses meadows, descends steep, muddy hills, climbs on deep sandy trails and passes through beech and pine forests. And that's just the half of it! The return is more of the same, ending with a tough climb to the finish line!

Course Details

There will be hills, mud, rocks, sand, forest and outstanding views. You will need your trail shoes.

There are usually road crossings so always be mindful of cars. Volunteer marshals will be there to make sure you’re checking it’s safe to cross.

If you’re planning on supporters being out on the route, please make sure they are going to see you where the route is open to the public and parking is allowed.

Horses and Mtb-ers: Always be aware of both. You will likely see them on the route. If approaching horses from behind, make yourself known in good time to avoid unwanted surprises!

How to Get There

Nearest station is Clandon 2.4 miles away. From here it's a 45 minute walk or 5 minute taxi ride.
No. 25 bus from Friary Shopping centre, Guildford.

Free parking but spaces are limited and small. So arrive early and drive carefully.

  • What time does it start?

    0800

  • Can I park on site?

    Yes

  • Can I wear road running shoes?

    It's not advisable. The route in entirely off road with mud, sand, grass, forest trails. You will need off road, trail running shoes.

  • Can I bring my dog?

    Uunfortunately not.

  • Do both distances start at the same time?

    Yes

  • How do I know which route to follow?

    Both distances follow the same route & markers until the split point which will also be sign posted and usually marshalled.

  • Will I receive my race number in the post?

    No. Collect race number on the day.

Very tough and enjoyable winter trail, running through some unreal scenery. Very dry this year but I assume if wet would be a different ball game. I will be coming back next year to beat my time for sure!

Bitterly cold, driving rain. Rivers of water, thick mud, punishing climbs, treacherous descents…Wonderful! clear signage, friendly Marshalls and really well organised race, thoroughly recommend.

at the beggining there was a problem with the system and my details werent found and when I finished didn't get medal, but after the race was contacted by findarace and the organizer, they were very too kind, appologized for the inconcinience and brought the medal- what a superstars. many thanks to Jacob and Rory
