Glasgow Green - All in for the Games

Fri 17th July 2026

A group of people jogging in a marathon on a sunny day. Some wear numbered bibs, and two participants in the foreground wear green "Vegan Runners" shirts. They look cheerful; a woman in the center is making a peace sign. Others behind them and to the sides also jog. A man with a shaved head wearing glasses, a blue and black running outfit, and a race bib number 308 is smiling and giving a thumbs-up as he runs outdoors on a paved path beside a stone railing, with greenery and people in the background. A group of runners participating in a race. Various people, dressed in athletic attire, jog down a tree-lined street, some smiling and chatting. Bib numbers, including 105, 165, 235, and 47, are visible. Bystanders watch from the background. Two runners wearing race bibs 228 and 229 smile and gesture enthusiastically as they pass under a yellow starting archway during a race. Both are dressed in athletic gear, with trees and race barriers in the background. Three women stand together on a road, smiling and raising their arms in celebration. They are dressed in athletic wear and have race bibs pinned to their shirts. Trees line the background, indicating an outdoor setting, likely post-race or during a fun run. Two men with race bibs and medals smile at the camera under a yellow "Up & Running" race arch. One man holds a toddler in a pink jacket. Trees and race equipment are visible in the background.

Very well organised and enjoyable race. I ran the 10k and the only negative I have is the congestion at the start as 10k and 5k start together. Maybe an idea going forward was to start the 5k slightly after the 10k this would ease the number of people trying to get round the first few corners.

Although the course map looks confusing, it was actually very easy to follow the route. The path quality throughout was very good despite the below-freezing temperatures on race day. Only suggestion - bring a permanent marking pen to write details on the back of the race numbers, as ordinary pens did not seem to mark

Overall genuinely happy for the race. Few negatives which prevented it from a five star 1 - I am not a great fan of dogs and I did see at least one person running with their dog. 2 - Granted it is a public path but having the general public cutting through and over the race track was not ideal. All volunteers were very friendly and provided plenty encouragement so will be back for another race.

I ran the 10K Up And Running race at Glasgow Green on 4th May red bib number 1554 and enjoyed my run very much, this was my 58th 10K, but the first with the Up and running organiser, I have NO complaints whatsoever, the marshalls were very friendly and helpful, the medal is great, next time I LL run the 5K version.
