Hertfordshire Spring Triathlon
Back for its fifth year! This event will feature sprint and standard distances. The standard distance includes the Herts Club Championships, but is open to everyone. Open water lake swim, the road bike course is undulating, and the traffic-free run is on grass. There will be live commentary, music and race photography as you celebrate your achievements with your friends and family.
The Hertfordshire Triathlon has seen some famous faces over the years. Mark Buckingham, ex-pro GB triathlete has raced, along with Lucy Charles and Reece Barclay, pro Ironman triathlete who won both the Spring and Summer 2016 Herts Club Championship races.
750m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run
1500m swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run
Medal and souvenir for all finishers
Overall 1st, 2nd, 3rd male and female prizes
Age group prizes in BTF 10 year bands for fastest male and female in each age group
Hertfordshire Sprint Champion in each BTF 10-year age group. (You must be born in Herts or have lived there for at least 12 months prior to the event)

Water will be provided and at the end of the race, and on the run laps

By Road: Take Junction 4 off the A1(M), follow the A6129 and signs to Stanborough Park. Use postcode AL8 6DQ for your Satnav.
By rail: The venue is 1 mile from Welwyn Garden City Station, with direct lines to London King's Cross and Cambridge. Welwyn Garden City station is managed and served by Great Northern.
By bus: Arriva buses operate services to Hemel Hempstead, Stevenage, St Albans and beyond.
A pay and display car park is available at Stanborough Lakes

Only competitors wearing their ID will be allowed in or out of the transition area.
A £5 BTF licence fee is payable on the morning of the race for non-BTF members. BTF members must produce their license at registration or a £5 levy will be charged
If circumstances deem the course to be unsafe or it falls outside the BTF guidelines, ATW have the right to change, move or cancel the event at short notice.
The race starts and finishes in the same location at Stanborough Lakes. Please arrive in plenty of time to collect your registration pack and set up in transition.
Race numbers and timing chips will be collected at Stanborough Lake on the morning of the race.
Registration will open at 06:15am and close at 06:45am.
