Organiser's Description
From the organisers of the multi-award-winning Eastbourne Triathlon, IronBourne Long Distance Triathlon returns in 2024 featuring the British Middle Distance Triathlon Championships! Alongside this there will also be a Full Distance Triathlon, Full and Middle Distance Aquabike, a 3.8km Swim and a Marathon!
Starting with an iconic jump from the end of Eastbourne's historic pier to begin your swim, followed by a fast and mostly flat cycle course and finishing with a new run route for 2024, still along the beautiful Eastbourne seafront but now even faster with less than 100m of elevation.
Numbers are strictly limited so please don't delay or you risk the event selling out as it has done previously. There are also early bird deals for a limited period which if you take with Booking Protection is still cheaper than waiting, so there really is nothing to lose and everything to gain by entering early!

Swim Route
The swim start is set to be one of the most iconic starts on the triathlon calendar, with a jump off the end of Eastbourne's historic pier!
Cycle Route
If you wish to train on the course, we advise that you only ride the first 20 miles early on Sunday mornings as this section of the course can be busy with traffic at other times. On race day it will be very different; three sections of the course will be closed to traffic (but not the entire course). We have over 400 signs, 100 of which are designed specifically to educate drivers how to overtake bikes safely. We will also have 10 motorcycle marshals, over 30 static marshals and more volunteers on the bike course.
Run Route
The run will head out and back along the gravel path before heading out and back along the lower prom, again towards Holywell. You then head out and back to the far eastern end of the prom. In total you complete the 10.55km lap four times.
