The 53K ultra route consists of an undulating loop on a mix of surfaces including trail, gravel and road. Starting at Bamford Recreation ground you will ascend Win Hill and enjoy breathtaking views of Ladybower Reservoir to the north. After traversing the ridge you descend to a double track gravel road along the waterfront, cross the dam and pass through our Heatherdene Aid Station. From here you will make a full circumnavigation of Labybower reservoir, passing two further Aid Stations along the way.
Now it is time to climb again! Heading up towards White Tor before descending back down to cross the A57. CUTOFF TIMES (50K ONLY)
For the safety of runners and staff we will be imposing a strict 12 hour cutoff for our 50K race distance. This is a very generous cutoff and should give all runners plenty of time to finish. More information to follow.
CUPLESS AID STATIONS
In an effort to reduce waste, all of our races are now cup-free, meaning you’ll need to pack along your own cup for fluids at aid stations during the race. We suggest that you bring either a hand flask, running vest with water bottles or a collapsible cup. Every finisher will receive a bottle of Water after they finish.
BAGGAGE
We will have a secure area in the event village where you can leave your baggage. We recommend you bring as little baggage as possible. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number, you simply tear it off and attach to your bag. To collect, show your number to the baggage staff and they will help you find your baggage.
