Set in the stunning landscapes of Kendal, Cumbria, this event invites participants to explore England’s breathtaking countryside at their own pace. The centerpiece of the challenge is a thrilling 100km loop that includes exhilarating climbs, the iconic Garburn Pass, and the charming town of Ambleside, with a picturesque halfway point by Lake Windermere.

Whether you’re an experienced ultra-runner or a newcomer, there’s a distance for everyone, including half, marathon, quarter, and 10K options. Enjoy full support and hospitality throughout your journey, along with optional camping or hostel accommodations. After conquering the trails, celebrate your achievements back at the challenge basecamp with a warm welcome and a fantastic atmosphere. Organiser's Description

Take on England’s finest countryside at your pace. Challenge basecamp is in Kendal, and it’s a 100km loop taking in a couple of tough hills, the Garburn Pass, historic Ambleside, a half way point by Lake Windermere, forests & nature reserves – with some stunning views en-route, before a huge welcome & celebration back at basecamp after a momentous journey. You’ll get full support & hospitality, optional camping / hostel – and with half, marathon, quarter & 10K distance options also, there’s a Lake District Challenge for everyone!

Course Details

From our Kendal basecamp – ahead lies 100 km of trails, high passes, stunning scenery, Ambleside, the magnificent Lake Windermere, nature reserves, forests, and over 2,500 m of climb. There’s a 2 Day ‘Daylight’ 100 km option, with hostel accommodation at half way Lakeside, and with Half & Quarter distance options, a Marathon option – and the fabulous Ambleside 10K.

What's Included

Endurance events for a wide range of fitness & ages – and the UK’s #1 series of treks & trail runs. Choose your Challenge – do it at your pace, and there’re 16 events in the Series. Our support enables you to go further, whilst enjoying the great outdoors & camaraderie. There’re marquee rest stops, lots of food & drink, medical & massage teams, with a fully signed route to guide you. A big finish-line celebration awaits with an amazing sense of achievement, and once the aches subside you’ll feel energised, and up for more of life’s real challenges!
