Following months of speculation, we couldn’t be more excited to announce that we’re taking Outlaw to the South West of England with our brand-new summertime event – Outlaw Half Bowood!
Outlaw Half Bowood will take place in the beautiful grounds of Bowood House & Gardens, set in the heart of stunning Wiltshire countryside. Bowood House is set within 100 acres of beautifully landscaped ‘Capability’ Brown parkland, with magnificent grounds leading to a spectacular mile long still-water lake - the perfect location for an Outlaw event.
Following a 1.2m swim in Bowood Lake, athletes will embark on a spectacular single-loop 56mile ride through the unspoilt Wiltshire countryside before completing their epic journey with a three-lap 13.1m run through the Bowood Estate.
Crossing the finish line of the inaugural Outlaw Half Bowood alongside your friends and family in the shadow of Bowood House will provide a memory to cherish for a very long time indeed!

Located just 9 miles from Junction 17 of the M4 and under an hour’s drive to both Bath and Bristol, it’s incredibly well located and easily accessible by both car and train.
SWIM COURSE - 1.2 MILES
The 1.2 mile swim consists of a single loop of Bowood Lake, set within the grounds of Bowood House & Gardens. With a deep water start and just a few turns to navigate, it provides you with a fantastic opportunity to clock a good time and get your Outlaw Half Bowood race off to a strong start. There will also be plenty of room for spectators to cheer you on and admire the breath-taking views that surround the lake.
BIKE COURSE - 56 MILES
The single-loop bike course has been described by the Race Director as ‘honest’ – so read into that as you will! With a good mixture of long flat sections and a scattering of punchy climbs, it will take you on a beautiful yet undulating journey through the Wiltshire countryside. Taking you through the heart of the historic site of Avebury, the route also boasts great views of the Wiltshire White Horses.
RUN COURSE - 13.1 MILES
Our three-lap, traffic-free run course will take you on a spectacular journey through the Bowood Estate, passing Bowood House on each lap. With a mixture of tarmac and woodland paths, it’s a varied course that we think you’re going to love. As you tick off the miles you’ll be able to marvel at the beauty of your surroundings and wildlife on display, not to mention the amazing support throughout!
