For all event parking please follow Event Day parking signs toward Delamere Forest carpark and Stewards directions on the day. Disabled parking is available here also and Stewards will aim to park you in the hardstanding disabled bays located at the visitor centre. This carpark is approximately 10 minutes from the start line.
Whitefield carpark may also be used on the day, but it is important to note this not an official Race for Life carpark and is a 20 minute walk to the start area.
Please allow sufficient time to travel, find parking and walk to the venue as parking may be limited on the weekend.
Drop off:
The Drop off point will be Treetops carpark on Yeld Lane, please follow the one way system through the carpark and exit at Station Road. This is approximately a 12 minute walk to the event site.
Public transport:
The nearest train station is located within Delamere Forest. Delamere Station is a 12 minute walk away from the meeting point at Old Pale car park.
Course Details
Please arrive 30 to 45 minutes before your start time so that you are prepared and ready to go on time.
Delamere Forest’s scenic 10k single lap course features a mixture of terrain such as winding trails, undulating woodland paths, and stone paths that incline and decline through the charming woodland. Delamere offers an invigorating route through its stunning shady oasis and it ideal for those who enjoy a bit more of challenge. Due to parts of the course being in the forest, it may become slightly muddy underfoot depending on recent weather conditions.
Please bring a reusable water bottle with you if you require water during the event.
Further Information
The Delamere Forest 10k features undulating woodland pathways, stone paths and areas with a steep incline and decline, so those with accessibility issues would require assistance on the uneven surfaces. We would advise that our 10k course may be unsuitable for wheelchairs, mobility aids and pushchairs due to the woodland terrain.
If spectating, the event site is on hardstanding, but is surrounded by grass and fairly narrow, steep pathways. There is disabled parking available at the new visitor centre for spectators. The visitor centre is surrounded by areas of hardstanding. Please be aware that in bad weather conditions the ground may become boggy and challenging for those with mobility issues.
If you require any further information on the accessibility of a Race for Life event, or wish to bring a carer/helper to accompany you, please contact our Supporter Hotline on 0300 123 0770 and press 1 when prompted (Opening hours are 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday) or email us at raceforlife
